Daoud – Ok [LP]

On his ACT debut ok, French-Moroccan trumpeter, producer, and composer daoud blends jazz, house, drumnbass, rock, Afrobeat, hip-hop, and disco into a wildly contemporary sound full of contrast and surprise. The album explores failure, loss, repetition, and the strange ritual of pretending everything is fine, balancing humor and melancholy, chaos and tenderness, melody and noise across 14 tracks. At its core, ok is a jazz record treated like anything but a jazz record: emotionally charged, restless, and deeply human.
