Another interesting compilation from the Mad Music crew, known for their unusual paring of like minded artists from different backgrounds and genres – this time focusing on funky progressive Jazz and Latin Funk roots. An eclectic assortment of artists including the ever funky horn man Hank Crawford with guitarist Calvin Newborn; Cuban Funk from the Sound Triangle Funk Band; the great Lionel Hampton in a rare foray into Psychedelic Funk; Cannonball Adderly, whose band epitomized the sound of funky Jazz in the late 1960’s; Soul Funk master Nat McCoy; funky Soul Jazz organist Bobby Forrester; and many more eclectic artists make for a thrilling joy ride into the land of Funk. Can YOU say funky? All selections newly re-mastered. [Note: This product is an authorized CD-R and is manufactured on demand].
