12” EP – Limited Edition Translucent Gold Coloured Vinyl.

Harmless Melodies is the debut EP by British singer-songwriter Yellow Days, released in November 2016 on the Good Years Music label. At the time, George van den Broek was just 17 years old, and the record marked his first major introduction to the music world.

The EPs sound blends soulful, introspective vocals with lo-fi production and influences drawn from jazz, blues, and classic soul, creating moody, evocative tracks that feel both timeless and contemporary. Its seven tracks including the standout Your Hand Holding Mine feature reflective lyrics about love, heartbreak and everyday life, set against laid-back guitar, organ-tinged riffs, and thoughtful vocal delivery that belies his youth.

Critically, Harmless Melodies was praised as a breakout debut; reviewers highlighted his mature voice and unique style, with some outlets rating it highly (e.g., 9/10) and noting that it felt like a cohesive musical journey rather than just a collection of songs. Fans and reviewers alike found it soulful, introspective and refreshingly authentic, especially impressive from a teenager still developing his craft. mysticsons.

The EP helped firmly establish Yellow Days as a distinctive voice in indie and alternative soul, setting the stage for his later releases and growing reputation throughout the late 2010s.
